About AAPINA of Texas
Founded on February 23, 2023, by Kim-Dung Mai, MSN, RN, CMSRN, AAPINA of Texas is the first official Texas chapter of the Asian American/Pacific Islander Nurses Association (AAPINA). As part of a national network, we serve as a unifying voice for Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) nurses and nursing students across the state.
AAPINA of Texas was established to create a supportive and empowering space where AAPI nurses and nursing students can connect, grow, and lead. Recognizing the need for greater representation and advocacy in healthcare, our organization is committed to uplifting voices, fostering mentorship, and building pathways for leadership within the nursing profession.
Through mentorship, professional development, community engagement, and advocacy, we support our members while advancing the health and well-being of AAPI communities. We are dedicated to promoting culturally responsive care and addressing health disparities that impact the populations we serve.
Our work extends beyond our members; we strive to make a meaningful impact in communities across Texas by encouraging service, collaboration, and health education. By investing in the next generation of nurses and strengthening our collective voice, we aim to create lasting change in healthcare.
As we continue to grow, AAPINA of Texas remains committed to empowering AAPI nurses and nursing students, advancing health equity, and building a strong, connected community across the state.
